The American Association of Cardiologists of Indian Origin (AACIO) announces four Young Investigator Awards in Cardiovascular Disease for trainees of Indian subcontinent origin. The awards are given at their dinner meeting organized by a local society/association during meetings of the American College of Cardiology annual conventions usually held in March each year.

The four awards are the Dr. Krishna Ramaswamy, Dr. Madhukar Deshmukh, Prof. Kul Aggarwal and Dr. Kishore Harjai Family Young Investigator Awards. The finalists present their abstracts at the meeting and receive $1,000.00 award and a certificate. Please visit our website for further details. www.aacio.org

ABSTRACT DEADLINE: Sunday, February 22, 2026. Winners will be announced within one week of the abstract deadline.

Awardees will need to be available in person Saturday, March 28, 2026, by 5:00 p.m. to give their Power Point Presentation to the audiovisual person and remain to present their abstract until at least 8:30 p.m. when all abstract presentations are expected to be completed during the AACIO Inhouse Meeting at The Westin New Orleans, 100 Iberville Street, New Orleans, Louisiana.

Abstract Guidelines IMPORTANT

1. Assign one of the following categories to your abstract and place at the top above the abstract title: Basic Science, Clinical Cardiology/Imaging, Interventional/EP Cardiology

2. Maximum 2 abstracts per author.

3. The following will not be considered for the AACIO Young Investigator Awards (YIA): a) Abstracts from previous Awardees, b) Abstracts already presented or accepted for presentation either for oral presentation or poster presentation in any scientific or AACIO meeting, c) Abstracts already published (in part or as a full manuscript) or accepted for publication. Please include a statement indicating this is true/correct for each abstract.

4. Submitters must be a) Resident/Fellow in cardiology or cardiology related field or b) have a research position in cardiology or related field or c) if a faculty, must have completed their Residency or Fellowship program within 5 years of submission. Include the contact information for the submitting author in the email message; do not include on the abstract.

5. Abstract format: The total length of each abstract including the Title, Authors and Abstract content is one page. The abstract may go to a second page only to accommodate any graphs/charts/figures. Abstract should contain the Title of the Abstract followed by the names and degrees of all authors (underline the submitting author’s name) and their affiliation(s), then a blank line followed by the abstract. Abstracts not submitted in this format will be returned for correction or rejected.

9. The YIAs presentation will be a 5 minute oral Power Point presentation about their abstract (See #8).
